In charge: Department of Lithics
This research begins out of concern to recuperate the data of the context of the obsidian knives from the Paracas collection stored in the Department of Lithics of the MNAAHP, which was recovered by J.C. Tello and his team (1925-1930). through the various components of the funeral trappings we tried to reconstruct not just the ritual of the burial of this personage but also to approach the significance of the piece itself. In close collaboration with the technical areas of the MNAAHP we located the majority of artifacts which made up the trappings of this grave and particularly the bony remains of this important personage in Paracas society.
