WARI ROOM The Middle Horizon is one of the most impressive stages in the history of ancient Peru, developed in Ayacucho, the first imperial phenomenon, when out of the fusion of ideological elements from the altiplano (highland plateau), the exploitation of raw materials and state complexity, emerged a militaristic ruling class that expanded over almost all of the Andean territory, implicating fundamental changes in the conduct of its populations. The collection of the urns of Pacheco, present in this room, represents the Staff God, the ideological symbol of this time.
