 ORIGINS AND ARCHAIC GALLERY
The emergence of Homo sapiens sapiens (modern man) on the planet, his presence in the Americas and his gradual adaptation to the material conditions of existence are shown. The oldest human remains from Peru were identified in Lauricocha, the collection from which is to be found in our Museum.
In light of new archaeological evidence, the Archaic Period is understood as the crucial moment of domination of geographical space and the emergence of widespread cultural manifestations like textiles and ceramics. The collections of La Galgada and the crossed hands from Kotosh are part of the collection from this period.
