 METALS COLLECTION
Department of Metals
In the Department of Metals, archaeologists and conservation technicians work, performing the daily tasks of examining, stabilizing and cleaning pieces which require these treatments and carrying out research projects on the material in our custody.
Research is concentrated on the tupu collections from Pashash and La Galgada which exhibit valuable iconographic information. The metallurgy of the period of regional development turns out to be one of the most important pillars for understanding the metallurgy of ancient Peru, for this reason, the collection offers important returns on investigation in terms of information to be gained about its inherent attributes.
Services
Attention to researchers interested in any of the museum's metals collections and consultation in reference to research development.
