 BIBLIOGRAPHIC COLLECTION
Archives
The archives unit is endowed with a documentary collection encompassing the 16th through the 19th centuries and includes the archives of the principal researchers and scholars of Peruvian themes. The Bibliographic Fund offers research and reading services in the library and archives to advanced level students and researchers.
This area conserves the administrative documentation generated by our institution. In addition, it has a special collection of historical documents (very important pieces for the reconstruction of the history of our native land). They emphasize: the retasa [reappraisal] of Huarochiri, which provides important data from the time of Spanish domination; the capitulation of Ayacucho, with which our independence is definitively sealed; a letter signed by José Bernardo Alcedo where he clarifies to a friend the original lyrics with which the national anthem was created; all the documents that Julio C. Tello was generating in the development of his expeditionary task of rescue and conservation of archaeological centers found in the two seats of learning which welcomed this illustrious researcher (San Marcos University and the National Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology). In this Museum is found an important part of this archives made up of field notes, reports, photographs, sketches, maps and drawings.
